& Expo Asia-Pacific

About ITEC Asia-Pacific

The 2018 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo Asia-Pacific (ITEC Asia-Pacific) will be held on June 6-9, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. This conference is a technical conference and industry exhibition dedicated to electrified vehicles and components, subsystems, and systems for all types of electrified vehicles and transportation systems (land, air, space, and sea).

ITEC Asia-Pacific is part of a global series of ITEC conferences taking place around the world (North America, Asia, India, and Europe) to help engineers, researchers and decision makers exchange information and knowledge on electrified transportation technologies.

The ITEC Asia-Pacific final proceedings will be submitted for publication in IEEE Xplore, and for indexing in EI Compendex. To submit your paper, please click here.

Cars 100 years later –motor/capacitor/wireless
'Motor', 'Capacitor' and 'Wireless' will be the key technologies for cars 100 years later, instead of 'Engine', 'Battery' and 'Quick charge'. Future cars will be driven by electric motors, but we still have lots of problems in energy supply. Why are electric vehicles supposed to be charged with 'stopped', in a 'short time', and by ‘big energy’, even though the energy form of electricity is completely different from that of gasoline. Wireless power transfer during parking is ready to be commercialized, however, wireless power transfer during driving requires completely different technologies. It can not be realized so easily, but there are some hints. Finally, I will also introduce the wireless in-wheel motor electric vehicle under development.

Tracked Electric Vehicles (TEV) Project
TEV Project is an open-source initiative that was formally incorporated as a non profit company in 2014. The project invites collaboration and investment in an open design of TEV infrastructure. TEV is a design for compact, electrically powered highways for use by electric vehicles with autonomous driving capability. This includes private cars, public transportation, shared transportation and light freight. The electric roadways are designed for rubber tired electric vehicles which can travel on TEV’s electric highways at much higher speeds and in far greater safety than cars can on motorways today. Automatic control enables close-coupling of vehicles so TEV has a vastly greater passenger carrying capacity than traditional roads and even high speed commuter trains.

BNEF view to 2040: Electric Vehicle Outlook 2018This reports updates our global electric vehicle (EV) forecast to 2040. This year, we are adding an outlook for electric buses, including more details on upcoming EV models, and deepening our analysis of the impact of ride hailing and autonomy on the car market. We also look more closely at battery supply risks for cobalt, lithium and other materials. Our projection includes passenger EV sales and fleet penetration to 2040 and the respective impact on the power, liquid fuel and battery materials markets.

Autonomous Vehicles for Mobility on Demand
The DARPA Urban Challenge competition has sparked considerable attention in autonomous vehicles not only from the research community but also from the industry and public. Since then, the technology has been continuously further developed and shown great promises as a potential alternative to current transportation options. NuTonomy, a startup that spun out of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has joined the race against a number of rivals to deploy autonomous vehicles. We are currently working with Singapore to utilize autonomous vehicles as shared resources in Mobility on Demand (MoD) systems.
